Larry E. Stolle, age 72, of Mifflin Twp. passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at OSU Hospital in Columbus after a long illness. Larry was born in Mansfield April 19, 1937 to the late Anna Stolle Horn and Peter F. Stolle. He attended Mansfield Senior High School with the class of 1955. He worked 10 years at Borden Dairy. He then worked as a laborer with Local #1216 and was a 45 year member. He attended Faith United Methodist Church for the last 15 years. Larry was also a member of the VFW 3494, AMVETS, Sons of Herman, and Liederkranz. A careful man who could be stubborn at times, Larry always rose to the challenge. He enjoyed hanging out at his friend's garages, going on vacations with family, his backyard ice skating rink, and just having a good time. He also had a love of animals of all types. He even had a pet skunk. Larry was known for having his own jargon with certain words he found hard to pronounce.
He is survived by his wife, Doloris, and would have celebrated 52 years of marriage April 4, 2010 whom he met at Roller Skating Rink. He was blessed with two wonderful daughters, Lucille (Gil) Boebel of Mansfield and Janet (Dave) Constance of Lexington; grandsons, Travis and Chad Boebel; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Jeff) Alt of Mansfield and Nancy (John) Murphy of Florida; brother-in-law, Charles (Ruth) Murray of Florida; beloved dog, Megan; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Joe Horn; step mother, Mary Ellen Stolle; grandson, Ian; and step sister, Nancy Stolle Dickerson.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Michael Mack. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
