Mildred V. Weekley, 99, of Mansfield, died Sunday March 7, 2010 at MedCentral Hospital. Born March 17, 1910 in Parkersburg, WV, she was the daughter of Frank L. and Lucy Anna (Lowe) Voshel. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. During WWII she worked at Westinghouse, making the ignition switches for bombs. She also worked at Reed's sewing room as a seamstress, Blakes Bakery, and also own Specialty Pastries Bakery. Mildred educated herself by reading the encyclopedia and was also a very perceptive person with a photographic memory. In her spare time she loved sewing, knitting, baking, and just enjoyed being in the kitchen. According to her grandchildren, Mildred and her husband were the best grandparents ever, and enjoyed her grandchildren's visits and telling them stories. She is survived by her daughter, Norma J. Owens of Crestline; son, Burton C. Weekley of Mansfield; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Weekley; daughter, Ada Fogg; sons, Cecil F. (Buck) Weekley, Franklin Duane Weekley, and Leon (Oney) Weekley; sisters, Gertie Cramer and Marie Jeffries; and brothers, Harley, Bert, and Emmett "Doc" Voshel. Friends may call Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Paul L. Larson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
